Tara Hayes is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with nearly 25 years of nursing experience spanning clinical practice, higher education and health care leadership. She provides primary care at the FSU Health Lifestyle Medicine Clinic, where she delivers comprehensive care with a focus on chronic disease management, preventive health, hormone replacement therapy and lifestyle counseling.
In addition to her clinical role, Hayes serves as teaching faculty at Florida State University’s College of Nursing, where she leads curriculum development and program evaluation for the family nurse practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs. She works closely with graduate students and faculty to ensure academic excellence, oversee clinical education standards and support student success in advanced practice nursing.
Her clinical background includes medical-surgical nursing, clinical case management and advanced practice in outpatient settings. Throughout her career, Hayes has maintained a commitment to improving patient outcomes, promoting wellness and advancing nursing practice through education and service.
Hayes is nationally certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and as a certified nurse educator. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Samford University, a Master of Science in Nursing from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University.
